About

I’m François. Senior software engineer, builder at heart. Since AI started coding with me, side projects come out faster than I can talk about them: TV apps, watch firmware, a homelab, AI tools, web games, anything nerdy enough to feed my mind.

This blog is the workshop notebook of that period. What works, what breaks, and what it changes about making things.

A bit more about me

I got my first PC, an XT with an 8088, at five. Since then, more than thirty years in software engineering, systems administration, cloud infrastructure and storage.

In my spare time, I build: firmware for watches and dev boards, apps for the TV, a homelab on Incus, and ALGOTITAN, an organization of AI agents that does most of the typing.

Away from the keyboard: family time, cooking (Mediterranean and Thai), travel, urban exploration on foot and by transit. In the drawer: a drone, a 3D printer, a Flipper Zero, ESP32 boards and lots of weird electronic devices.

What this blog is not

No tutorials. No changelog. No case for or against AI. No newsletter to grow. Abandoned projects belong here too.

How it is written

Posts are drafted by AI from my raw material: notes, transcripts of my working sessions with the agent, Git repositories, screenshots. I proofread and correct every post before it goes out. The opinions are mine: the AI is not allowed to make any up.

Every post lists its sources, how long I spent proofreading it, and how much of the text I rewrote. The original draft is kept in the repository.

I write in French. The English and Spanish versions are translated by the AI from the version I proofread.
