Kronograf

A from-scratch firmware for the LilyGO T-Watch 2020: aviator chronograph, Back to the Future time circuits, iPhone notifications over BLE, live buses, a network toolbox, and a macOS simulator.

v0.7.0-beta.2
Kronograf's screens: watch faces, launcher, weather, a notification, the network toolbox, world clock, sun and moon.

The LilyGO T-Watch 2020 is an ESP32 watch with a 240×240 screen, a power chip, an accelerometer, a speaker and an infrared LED. Kronograf replaces its firmware entirely.

  • Faces: an aviator chronograph with smooth hands and sub-dials, three rows of 7-segment time circuits straight out of Back to the Future, and a dim night face.
  • Apps: stopwatch, timer, alarms, world clock, weather, real-time bus departures, sun and moon computed offline, step history, level, torch, a TV remote over infrared.
  • Network toolbox: Wi-Fi analyzer, ping, traceroute, DNS, port check, LAN scan, speed test, Bluetooth scan.
  • iPhone: notifications over ANCS (Bluetooth Low Energy), with a vibration, and “Clear” or “Decline” sent back to the phone.

A macOS simulator builds exactly the same interface, which is how most screens were checked before reaching the wrist. Built with an AI agent in three days, in stages, and released under the MIT license with CI-built releases.
